Whole Person Health

Good health is among the few things that almost everyone agrees is a wonderful gift. Even the greatest wealth cannot replace the loss of it. However, the majority of people do not consider health their duty to care for and protect. Instead, when their good health for some reason is gone, many react as if some sort of unearned right has been stolen from them.

In this blog I will be exploring the many ways that we can help ourselves hold on to our health, and so, by default, will also be teaching some of the ways that some people inadvertently loose their health. Together we will discover the many things that can be done to avoid the pitfalls of poor health.

Whereas several other programs focus only on physical health, I will be showing the ways that financial health and the health of our bodies are related and have a great deal to do with each other. The purpose for doing this is that over time I have realized that the loss of physical, spiritual, and emotional health are in large part due to deprivation of financial health.

One of the key concepts of the study and promotion of health in this blog is going to be concept of “wholistic health”. What this means is that we are going to learn together how health of body and mind and spirit are integrated into one dynamic whole and how it is impossible to be truly healthy in total if you are not healthy in the parts.

You might notice that I have spelled “wholistic” a little differently than the more frequently seen “holistic”. The reasons for this will become apparent over time but I’m going to give you a hint now: would you rather think of yourself healthy with all your parts “integrated into one dynamic whole” or would you rather think of yourself in “one dynamic hole”? There are other reasons that are deeper than this most obvious one.

In summery, the use of this blog will be to help us explore together the meanings of the concept of true health. I will be purposefully looking at financial health as key to having health in body, mind, and spirit, unlike most ways of looking at whole person health. All these must be combined, and, for us to be truly healthy, in balance. We wish to have and keep this amazing gift of health. By teaching you how to discover the ways you are out of balance and how to get back into balance, I will teach you the meaning of having “wholistic health”.
